Drury Premier Div3 Team

Drury v Weymouth ( April 13) .

The Senior team played Weymouth at home on another pleasant afternoon at the Drury Domain. Once again the lads dominated the opposition initialy and scored fist but found themselves down 12-5 at the break. Weymouth scored two more in the second half from some good running rugby before Drury responded with a nice try of their own. Drury had the last laugh with a penalty try on full time from a scruminfringement. The forwards dominted the set piece but the team lost the game 26-21.

A better effort than last week and when the team comes together the wins should come.

Next week V Rewa away 3.00pm Mountfort park

Drury v Maramarua ( April 6) .

The Senior team played Maramarua at home on a very pleasant afternoon, on a fast track in front of a good sized crowd. The lads dominated Rua for a good portion of the first half but found themselves down 19-12 at the break. Same story in the second half, plenty of positive play but the loose ball kept bouncing Rua's way and they scored some more long range tries. Drury closed within 7 points with seven minutes remaining and hot on attack but a sixty metre intercept put the drury team to bed.  A dubious try on full time to the opposition 'tucked in the blankets'.

Final score 43-22 to Maramarua

Drury finally broke their Sid Marshall Shield drought and completed another outstanding season as they edged Te Kohanga 17-13 on Navigation Homes Stadium number 2.

The game was played in great spirits between two very good sides and little separated them.

Te Kohanga had their chances to win the game, but Drury scored to re-take the lead with seven minutes to play and did not relinquish it.

It caps a run over the past three seasons where Drury has arguably been the best team in the competition only to lose a final and a semi-final and fall just short.

That would not be the case in 2023.

We Are The Champions !!!!!!!!!

Saturday July 15   Drury v TeKohanga    Championship Final

Wow !! What a semi-final that was.     Shoulda won by more and boy we coulda lost by one.   Well done to all involved and one more week to go.

Div 3

What a difference a week makes. Shiite weather for training on a  home ground that is more mud than grass didn't stop the Div 3 from working out how to top Weymouth. Well done team. Drury 22 - Weymouth 10

No Way Through There

Some big boys in the weymouth team - have a go Karl........I dare ya

There's always one

June 21 2023

Computer trouble..... sorry no commentary - but a quick catch up.

Div 3

Div 3 had been going ok with wins against Tekauwhata 24-12, Tekohanga 21-12, Maramarua 26-22, Onewhero 39-0 and Puni 24-15. playing well without a really dominant performance.

They came up against Waiuku last weekend and although they played well enough and were in it for most of the game we fell away in the last twenty or so. Very similar to last years semi. Waiuku have a couple of quality players that Drury failed to keep on top of.

It didnt help having the two weeks off prior to this game (Kings b'day and a bye) but it only leaves two more round robin games to get the match fitness back. Drury now sits second on the table behind Weymouth, the team they play next Saturday. A win will put them back on top with Weymouth having the bye the following weekend, so a must win game.

With 8 points covering the top 5 clubs it's anyones competition.

Before and After

Good to see the Kids enjoying the footy

Div 3

The Div 3's traveled to Te Kauwhata, a club that has always been hard for Drury to get the win against. I wasnt there but it sounds like the forwards blew them off the park in the first half but then let them sneak back into the game in the second half - a game of two halves?     Half time score 19 - 0.   Full time score 24 - 12.

Always nice to sing the song down there.

Big game this weekend v Te Kohanga at home. A couple of key players away killing ducks so an opportunity for someone else to take their spot and make a statement. Lets go Boys.

Big day out for Clint

Clinton Repias Blazer game today v Patumahoe

Congratulations Clint and well done.

An all round good bugger and well deserved.

I am sure the rest of the team will want to see him leading a winning side into the sheds. Lets go Boys.

Big Day for the Big Guy

Ready to rumble?

Div 3

Bit of a brutal encounter with the conditions not allowing for an expansive game. Plenty of direct running and hard tackling eventually wearing down the Patumahoe players with Drury scoring tries at regular intervals. Nothing to flashy, good old wet weather football.

Congrats to Clint for getting his blazer.

Next week away to Te Kauwhata.

Couple of photos below then the phone went flat

Div 3

This team has had a solid pre-season and numbers growing each week. With some of the 85's getting game time they played a ten-a-side tourney in BOP and games v Mahurangi and Mt Wellington.

Saturday saw them hit the ground running and piling on the points v Tuakau. The game was called a bit early, so unlucky for the those that were to be late subs.

All in all some good shit and hopefully the boys can carry it over to the game v Patty on Saturday

Last weeks lineup

100+ games for Gerhard Benadie in 2022 - well done mate.

Blazer game for Karl & Banger

Blazer day for Tuaki
