Semi Final.....oh so close

Wednesday 26 July 2017

The under 85's (now known as Drury Vikings) came close to stealing the show at Patumahoe. The team came out firing and took it to Patty, who themselves seemed a bit nervous. The game went up and down the field with both sides trading penalties for a half time score of six all. In the second half the Vikings had the better of Patty but couldn't finish it off, despite crossing the line on a couple of occasions for no reward. Patty only managed a couple of forrays into Viking territory with the ref awarding them a try from a maul over the line.

The final score of 13-6 was tough to take, with Drury finishing the better and wanting the win more. Not to be, however, but what a great effort from all involved, right down to water boy Mikey. Didn't take long for the Vikings to shake off the dissapointment of one that got away and finished the day in fine style at the aftermatches.

As we now know, Patty went on to defeat Karaka in the final, making it a double bad pill to swallow.

Looking forward to making that next step next season............go the mighty Vikings.
