Easter Weekend roundup

Monday 28 March 2016

Scheduling rugby for a long weekend, especially Easter, has never been a good idea. It's hard enough getting guys along this time of year on a regular weekend let alone the fine forcasted one we just had.

Big thankyou to those players who played 160 minutes, making up for those that had better things to do.

Drury won the first game, a free flowing affair with lots of gaps and lots of tries, nine in total. Some of our boys might not have run so far if they knew they had another game to play. The second game was the total reverse with a forward dominated affair slowed down by mistakes and injuries to both teams. Drury had their chances to take the game but Te Kauwhata showed some true grit and hung on. One try each with two penalties being the difference.

A couple of big scores this weekend with Bombay putting sixty on Papakura and Weymouth copping it from Onewhero who scored their maden century for the season.

Next weekend Drury plays Patumahoe at the Drury Domain in both prem and reserve grade (1.00 & 2.45pm), and for the true believers, the pressies are at Rewa for their first game of the season !.00pm ish).

Tuakau Golden Oldies tournament is on May 1 at Tuakau for anyone interested. Games kick of at 11.00am

Good to see the flag isn't changing.......what were they thinking??????
