We Are The Champions !!!!!!!!!

Saturday July 15

Drury Div 3 v TeKohanga in the Championship Final 3.00pm

Saturday July 8

Well the team did it. Drury off to a final . Well done to everyone involved this season, it has all come together. One more game to go.

Drury had the better of Waiuku for much of the game but went into "hang on" mode with the score at 14 -5 and plenty of time for Waiuku to get back into it. A try and conversion brought it back to 14-12 but the missed penalty from waiuku with time up gave Drury the win.

Plenty of excitement from everyone with the full time whistle and a lot of fun for the rest of the night by a lot of the lads.

Awesome crowd at the game from both clubs - must have been great to play in front of.

Thanks to the Papakura club - Wayne Sullivan - for hosting the game.

Saturday June 24

U85's

The 85's came up against an Onewhero team playing to make the semis. Onewhero had the best of the early exchanges and ran up thirty points before half time, a lot of the points coming from broken play. Drury were a better team in the second half and the game was a more even affair with the bounce sometimes favouring the opposition.  Their last game is next weekend and lets see if yhe lads can bring to the game some of the flair and skills they show at training - and perhaps give Patty something to mull over in the sheds post game.

All the best lads.

Div 3

What a difference a week makes. Shiite weather for training on a  home ground that is more mud than grass didn't stop the Div 3 from working out how to top Weymouth. Well done team. Drury 22 - Weymouth 10

June 21 2023

Computer trouble..... sorry no commentary - but a quick catch up.

Div 3

Div 3 had been going ok with wins against Tekauwhata 24-12, Tekohanga 21-12, Maramarua 26-22, Onewhero 39-0 and Puni 24-15. playing well without a really dominant performance.

They came up against Waiuku last weekend and although they played well enough and were in it for most of the game we fell away in the last twenty or so. Very similar to last years semi. Waiuku have a couple of quality players that Drury failed to keep on top of.

It didnt help having the two weeks off prior to this game (Kings b'day and a bye) but it only leaves two more round robin games to get the match fitness back. Drury now sits second on the table behind Weymouth, the team they play next Saturday. A win will put them back on top with Weymouth having the bye the following weekend, so a must win game.

With 8 points covering the top 5 clubs it's anyones competition.

Under 85's

A tough season for the 85's with only two games to go - home this weekend hosting Onewhero and away the following Saturday to Patumahoe.

Not much has gone the teams way on the field but they still hang tough post game. Great bunch of guys and hopefully onward and upward for next year.

Under 85's

A hard fought game against a well drilled Karaka team that has been together for a number of years. The lads never gave up and finished the game off strongly but gave away to many early points to have any chance of a win. A better effort than last week but not helped by the weather that provided very slippery conditions that neither team really adapted to.

Next week home to Pukekohe, another tough one. Some photos on the pull down page.

Div 3

Bit of a brutal encounter with the conditions not allowing for an expansive game. Plenty of direct running and hard tackling eventually wearing down the Patumahoe players with Drury scoring tries at regular intervals. Nothing to flashy, good old wet weather football.

Congrats to Clint for getting his blazer.

Next week away to Te Kauwhata.

Under 85'S

Not the result the Under 85's were after last week but to be fair they never had things go their way during the game. I don't want to get in trouble so I  will say no more. The team has had limited preparation for the upcoming season and Saturdays game was their first real team run.

A different story this week with numbers growing and two solid hit-outs on Tuesday and Thursday. I have a feeling this team will not long be out of the winners circle. Well done and congrats to Tainui for making it happen.

Div 3

This team has had a solid pre-season and numbers growing each week. With some of the 85's getting game time they played a ten-a-side tourney in BOP and games v Mahurangi and Mt Wellington.

Saturday saw them hit the ground running and piling on the points v Tuakau. The game was called a bit early, so unlucky for the those that were to be late subs.

All in all some good shit and hopefully the boys can carry it over to the game v Patty on Saturday
